Job Details Rooted in Catholic Health’s mission, the Risk Manager plays a vital role in promoting a safe, ethical, and healing environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. Key Responsibilities Prepares all aspects of Root Cause Analysis for reporting to NYSDOH Communicates with and prepares responses to regulatory agencies and patients Subject matter expert Risk Management, Insurance and Patient Safety Works collaboratively with the patient experience team with service recovery and addressing quality of care concerns. Assists all service lines with development and implementation of corrective actions plans Responsible for professional liability discovery Attends claims litigation meeting Coordinates, investigates, trends and disseminates safety event data Adept in use of EPIC and MIDAS software Adept in policy management and development Participates in Environmental, Patient Safety, Performance Improvement and Privacy programs including risk assessments and rounding Conduct medical record reviews to identify potential regulatory concerns, quality issues, and indicators of possible litigation. Manage incident reporting processes, including data entry, organization, and analysis using the MIDAS system. Compile and present quarterly and annual incident report summaries for the Hospital Performance Improvement (PI) Committee. Serve as a consultant and resource on risk-related matters to hospital staff across departments and service lines. Participate in the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee, submitting required reports and providing support through data review and evaluation. Assist with legal discovery and investigations, working collaboratively with the hospital’s legal counsel as needed. Oversee the MIDAS database; ensuring incident reports are complete, accurate, and timely. Coordinate and process general liability incidents and communicate with the hospital’s insurance providers as appropriate. Recommend and implement risk-reduction strategies to prevent injuries and improve the patient and visitor experience. Process manufacturer recall notices internally and reports externally as needed to regulatory agencies. Provide administrative support to the Director Risk Management & Regulatory Affairs Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of clinical or risk management experience in a healthcare setting. CPHRM preferred. Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, patient safety standards, and healthcare law. Strong analytical, investigative, and organizational skills. Proficiency in incident reporting systems (e.g., MIDAS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present data effectively to various audiences. Salary Range USD $116,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
