We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated Risk Management expertise who will play a key role in building out new exciting programs across Amazon’s different organizations. The Risk Manager, as part of the Second Line team responsible for Payments, Credit and Insurance in the UK and EU, drives risk assessments, escalation, and mitigation strategies across a diverse group of partners and risk disciplines. They play a vital role in ensuring that Amazon complies with local and global legal and compliance requirements and maintaining Amazon as being the place for a trusted shopping experience. You will join a team that partners across the organization to shape the future of Amazon’s evolving risk and compliance programs and where we value ownership, insight, intellectual flexibility, and sound business judgment.
Responsibilities:
• Drive second-line risk assessments, escalation, and mitigation strategies across products, services, and operational changes
• Design and implement risk appetite framework (including KRIs) and risk monitoring dashboards using business intelligence tools
• Identify and develop appropriate data sources for risk-based assessments and reporting
• Own, maintain, and annually update policies, procedures, and governance documents
• Develop data-driven narratives for leadership/Board reporting on risk levels and impacts
• Perform operational deep dives, understand business processes and controls
• Lead issue management processes, including root cause analysis and action tracking
• Coach non-risk professionals on risk management best practices
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with urgency
• Partner with stakeholders to drive automation and improve risk culture
• Support regulatory engagement and examinations as needed

• Facilitate development of risk frameworks including risk registers, appetite statements, and KRIs
• Drive regional initiatives in a global environment
