We are searching for a Risk Consultant to join our team.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Support strategic initiatives together with the Head of the Counterparty and Country Risk group. This includes expanded involvement in the Counterparty Stress Testing Management Works with the development and execution of certain CCAR-related estimation tools and processes under the guidance of the head of the group as well as support strategic initiatives including developing counterparty stress-testing framework and strategic credit limit allocation across business units.Manage a portfolio of counterparty and countries, ensuring that all entities are reviewed and monitored throughout the year using traditional CAMELS analysis and market-based information along with thorough ad-hoc due diligence visits and calls.Performs financial and market-based analysis, prepares and presents reviews of assigned counterparties and portfolio to credit committees with the goal of providing insightful credit opinions and recommendations.Coordinate certain CCAR-related projects, including OTTI estimation and other counterparty credit losses.Execute stress testing exercises related to counterparty risk in conjunction with relevant teams across the bank.Perform analysis of counterparties and countries annually or on ad-hoc basis; assigns Probability of Default ratings.Monitor trends of portfolio, serve as subject expert and trust advisor on assigned countries to partners.Manage relationships with local business units, inform of credit issues, and provide guidance for the development of strategies.Contribute to the development of risk monitoring products, processes and models related to counterparties and countries.Present to risk committees as needed.Coordinate, participate or lead visits and calls with external counterparties or clients.The successful candidate will benefit from having:
Excellent communication, verbal, and leadership skillsKnowledge of products such as Foreign Exchange, Securities Lending, MM Placements, and Investment Securities is preferredHighly flexible and adaptable to change. Ability to multi-task on several assignments at onceAdvanced analytical, writing skills and some quantitative skillsStrong relationship and presentation skillsAbility to develop relationships at all levels of the organization and crisis management/multi-tasking skillsBachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree and/or CFA designation are preferred. 5 + years of relevant experience, in a counterparty, CCAR/stress testing or country (Europe) risk function is required.#LI-LK2, #LI-Hybrid
Salary Range:
$74,200 - 126,200 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
