Risk and Insurance Consultant
Risk and Insurance Consultant Job Description: Are you passionate about helping businesses navigate risk while making smart, strategic decisions? At Sage, we're looking for a Risk and Insurance Consultant to support our global operations by strengthening risk management practices and ensuring we maintain the right level of insurance coverage. In this role, you’ll collaborate with teams across the organisation, helping to embed a culture of accountability, resilience, and continuous improvement. You’ll also have the chance to grow your own expertise while contributing to a high-performing, supportive team that plays a crucial role in keeping our business running smoothly. This is a hybrid role, based out of our Newcastle office 3 days per week. Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll help identify opportunities to make our risk management processes more efficient and effective—bringing fresh thinking and supporting the rollout of new practices. A big part of your role will be supporting our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework. This includes hosting risk identification sessions and providing hands-on support to help teams properly assess and manage their risk profiles. You'll engage regularly with stakeholders across the business to ensure that risks, controls, and mitigation plans are clearly defined, documented, and followed through. By producing timely and accurate risk reports, you’ll support both our global risk committee and functional leadership with the information they need to make confident decisions. You’ll also help manage Sage’s global insurance program, making sure we maintain appropriate coverage for our evolving needs. This includes reviewing policies, working with insurance brokers, and collaborating with internal teams to gather the right documentation and ensure timely renewals. Your support will also be essential in managing insurance claims—coordinating documentation, liaising with stakeholders, and keeping records up to date. Whether it's claims, policies, or risk-related activity, your attention to detail will help keep everything running efficiently and accurately. What We’re Looking For: You’re someone who’s comfortable engaging with people at all levels of the organisation and can communicate clearly, whether you're explaining risk issues or influencing decisions. You bring a hands-on, practical approach to risk management and have experience working with various assessment techniques or control design frameworks. With strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you’re able to break down complex issues and find effective solutions. You’re organised, results-driven, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines—even in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You're also a confident self-starter who enjoys working independently while contributing to collaborative, cross-functional projects. Experience or understanding of the global regulatory environment—such as the UK Corporate Governance Code—is preferred, and any prior exposure to insurance processes is a definite plus. Familiarity with risk and compliance tools, or data analysis tools like Microsoft Power BI, will help you hit the ground running. And while the role is primarily office-based, some occasional travel may be required. What’s in it for you? • Generous bonuses and pension scheme: Up to 8% matched pension contribution plus 2% top-up by Sage. • 25 days of paid annual leave with the option to buy up to another 5 days • 8 bank holiday days • Paid 5 days yearly to volunteer through our Sage Foundation • 50% income protection • Holiday buy + sell • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage • Work away scheme for up to 10 weeks a year • Ongoing training and professional development • Hybrid working • Healthy Mind app membership • Access to various helpful memberships for finances, health and wellbeing #LI-VM1 Function: Risk Assurance and Business Integrity Country: United Kingdom Office Location: Newcastle Work Place type: Hybrid Advert Working at Sage means you’re supporting millions of small and medium sized businesses globally with technology to work faster and smarter.
