We are seeking a talented individual to join our Broking team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, Dallas, Minneapolis, and New York. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Reinsurance is a risk transfer agreement that is often referred to as “insurance for insurance companies”. Insurance companies purchase reinsurance from other carriers to protect against the risk of a major claims event. The Risk Analyst role is entry level to the reinsurance Broker career track. Our Brokers are client advocates in the reinsurance transaction negotiations but also leaders in advising the right risk mitigation techniques; their financial broking expertise helps drive favorable terms for our clients, and their important advisory role impacts how the c-suite of insurance companies make decisions.
As a Risk Analyst at Guy Carpenter, you will:
Gain exposure to the firm’s business and knowledge of the reinsurance industry as they develop key communications, analytical, marketing and sales skills.Analyze client data and create reinsurance submissions while also developing the functional skills required to coordinate all broking placement activities of the account.Assist in organizing and preparing presentations which explain industry trends, discuss client options and recommend strategic solutions to meet client goals.Assist the senior brokers with client relationship management and sales efforts. Providing the brokers with market research and financial analysis for current and prospective clients.Develop competencies through a comprehensive and engaging curriculum centered around networking and collaboration. Broker Support
Data collection and analysis in building reinsurance submission for client assignmentsAssist in renewing reinsurance programs. Provide brokers with research analysis as neededUpdate Brokers on issues, progress etc, regularly and upon requestAssist in responding to client queries and concerns, resolving issues promptlyAssist in monitoring accountings, (premium payments, loss collections, etc) anticipating and preventing problems when possibleAssist with broker review on contract documentation, ensuring contract drafter has accurately captured terms and conditions of placementAssist in timely production of contract documentation and follow-up, ensuring timely flow of materialsAssist with scheduling of reinsurer audits and visits with clientLearn the Business
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of reinsurer capabilities (product lines, capacity, approvals, etc) with the help of Market Information Department and Market Reference GuideAnalyze client risk and develop and present recommendationsDevelop broking and functional skillsBest Practice Procedures and Compliance PoliciesUnderstand all best practice procedures and compliance policies.
