RF Technician
**Job Title: RF Technician** **Job Description** The RF Technician is responsible for building, reworking, and repairing RF components and filter assemblies to the highest quality standards. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, requiring precision mechanical assembly, soldering to IPC/J-STD Class III standards, cable and harness fabrication, and basic electrical testing. **Responsibilities** + Assemble RF devices and filter component assemblies according to work instructions, engineering sketches, and production guidelines, using screws, bolts, hand, and power tools. + Perform precision soldering of components and wiring. + Mix and apply adhesives; perform encapsulation and potting as specified. + Build, test, and troubleshoot wire harnesses and coaxial cables; conduct continuity tests and basic functional checks using multimeters and test boxes. + Measure parts with calipers and micrometers; adjust, deburr, or grind as needed to meet tolerances. + Disassemble, repair, and reassemble modules and rack-mount assemblies; perform RF component rework as directed. + Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and schematics; tag and mark parts with identifying information. + Follow AS9100D quality procedures; complete work efficiently, accurately, and on schedule to meet shipment dates. + Maintain ESD control and properly use microscopes and other magnification tools for fine-pitch work. + Safeguard company assets, including tools, equipment, and supplies; uphold safety policies and PPE requirements; contribute to a safe, high-morale workplace. **Essential Skills** + Experience performing SMT soldering on connectors and capacitors. + Ability to perform microscope assembly, utilizing a microscope throughout the workday. + Experience using hot plates for component connection to a PCB and adjusting the temperature. + Ability to read blueprints and schematics. + Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools. + Experience with RF filters and cable harness assembly. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Demonstrated proficiency in hand soldering. + Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOMs, schematics, and procedure manuals; follow verbal and written instructions. + Skilled with calipers, micrometers, and common hand/power tools; comfortable working under a microscope. + Experience with wire harness and coax cable fabrication and continuity testing. **Why Work Here?** Join a small, close-knit team of about 10 people, where your contributions are valued and recognized. Work in a small team environment, predominantly sitting while using a microscope for soldering tasks. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, CA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
