Description
Skyworks Solutions Technology and Manufacturing group (TMG) is looking for a passionate and skilled RF engineer to design and simulate production automated test equipment (ATE) printed circuit (PC) load boards for very high high-performance, high volume RF test solutions.
This design role utilizes both system and circuit level engineering to realize high performance ATE solutions that balance a wide range of potentially conflicting performance requirements. These solutions, when combined with industry leading test platforms and streamlined test program software, support the shipment of over 20 million parts per day supporting worldwide high-speed wireless data consumers.
The Role
Location: Irvine or Newbury Park, CA
We are seeking RF design engineers with a background in product design and/or development of RF, Analog, or Mixed Signal products with a desire to apply that knowledge to produce best in class ultra-high volume test hardware solutions for highly integrated wireless products.
This role requires understanding of RF specifications, system analysis and circuits design using an extensive library of commercial off the shelf (COTS) components, including RF switches, filters, couplers and amplifiers to balance total test capability, accuracy, cost and schedule.
Responsibilities
+ System level estimation of RF component impacts to gain, return loss, attenuation, isolation. noise figure and linearity.
+ Ability to do initial layout floor-planning using Cadence Allegro.
+ Electro-magnetic simulation of ATE solution RF transmission lines to evaluate RF line performance using Ansys HFSS.
+ Full circuit path simulation using Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS) to evaluate RF path s-parameters of combined layout and components.
+ Continuous improvement in ATE measurement capabilities and accuracy.
+ Feasibility support for new test requests.
Required Experience and Skills
+ Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of RF design and simulation (MS plus 6 years or PhD plus 3 years also acceptable)
+ Background of RF, analog or mixed signal designs.
+ Background in RF, analog or mixed signal system analysis techniques.
+ Background in RF design software such as Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS) and/or Ansys HFSS.
+ Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proven ability to work in teams.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Strong time management skills that enable on-time project completion.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year . Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
