Co-op duration January to June 2026
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be part of a multi-discipline team developing front-end modules for the high volume productions. During the Co-op he/she will work closely with design engineers, validation engineers, and lab technicians. Work activities include: lab testing and optimization of circuits, data analysis, presentation of measurement results. The candidate will face challenging performance parameters in the design of front-end modules and work with various teams to launch products to the fast paced and competitive wireless handset market.
Required Experience and Skills Study towards a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering. Must be available from January to June 2026. Solid understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability. Experience and familiarity with testing, evaluation and debugging RF, analog IC and MCM designs in a lab environment. Hands-on experience with Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Loadpull, Signal Generator, Probing Station, etc. Coursework in the following areas: Circuits and Electronics, Semiconductor Devices, Analog/Mixed Signal, RF/Microwave Circuits and Systems, Electromagnetics. Experience using C/C++, Matlab, etc. A self-starter and team player with strong desire to learn on the job. Good communication skills both verbal and written. Must have a career interest in becoming a Engineer in RF/microwave area. Desired Experience and Skills Good understanding of RF systems and familiarity with cellular standards. Good understanding of various power amplifier topologies, linearity and efficiency enhancement techniques, active biasing and broadband techniques is essential. Hands on experience in MCM artwork, EM simulation using ADS Momentum, HFSS, etc. Direct design experience with power amplifiers, RF switches and LNAs utilizing Agilent ADS/Cadence. Solid understanding of device and process technologies. Knowledge of both silicon and GaAs technologies. Knowledge of filter design in BAW/SAW technologies.The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
