Department OverviewThe RF Site Hardware team is an organization within the Products and Solutions group of Motorola Solutions. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated and highly reliable communications, infrastructure and networking products for Mission Critical and commercial communication products across a variety of global markets and standards. The RF Site Hardware Engineering team develops state of the art Digital, RF, Mechanical and Power Supply solutions to meet our customer’s needs.
Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing power amplifiers, receivers, VCO’s and PLL’s. The initial assignment will consist of developing a RF circuit for the next generation of infrastructure products operating in the VHF through 900 MHz bands. Other assignments could consist of supporting field issues or end-of-life components related to RF circuits on legacy products.
The candidate is expected to have working knowledge in RF circuit design. He/she should have experience in RF power amplifier design, Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) design, Phase Locked Loop (PLL) design, or Receiver design. He/she should enjoy hands-on building and debugging of circuits. During the development phase of a project, the candidate would work closely with other engineers, suppliers and the factory.
Desired Qualifications:
Strong background in RF circuit design and Wireless communication theory.
Expert knowledge in simulation tools such as ADS and Momentum.
Working knowledge of Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL and PCB Layout Editor or similar tools.
Works autonomously but able to work effectively with other engineering disciplines.
Sound analytic skills and able to troubleshoot circuits quickly.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent design projects.
Summarizes complex technical concepts clearly.
Good writing and communication skills.
Working knowledge of Labview is a plus.
Having an Amateur Radio License is a plus.
