The mission of the Department of Corrections is to be a public safety resource for Arkansas families by providing professional management solutions and evidence-based rehabilitative initiatives for offenders. All DOC positions are designated as Safety Sensitive Positions and are subject to random drug testing pursuant to the Secretarial Directive governing Personnel Drug Testing. Medical marijuana usage, as defined in Amendment 93 of the Arkansas Constitution, prohibits Personnel in a Safety-Sensitive Position from the use of medical marijuana even if they are qualifying patient under the amendment and/or hold a registry identification card. Department Personnel are prohibited from the use or possession of a medicinal marijuana card pursuant to this policy and state law. Position Information Job Series:Corrections Programs - Independent Classification:Revocation Hearing Officer Class Code:SCP20I Pay Grade:SPC05 Salary Range:$85,943 - $127,195 Job Summary The Revocation Hearing Officer is responsible for conducting revocation hearings for the Arkansas Board of Parole and the Arkansas Department of Correction. This role ensures that hearings are conducted fairly and in compliance with state and federal laws, providing a critical function in the parole and post-prison transfer process. The position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Primary Responsibilities Conduct revocation hearings for the Board of Parole and the Arkansas Department of Correction. Conduct transfer hearings for the Department of Community Correction. Conduct Interstate Compact Probable Cause Hearings. Prepare and type written reports for all hearings and prepare monthly status reports for the Board of Parole. Conduct parole hearings. Train Parole Officers to conduct proper revocation hearings. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and agency policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records of hearings, decisions, and other relevant documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills Understanding of legal research and writing protocols. Aptitude for maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information. Knowledge of legal research and writing protocols. Understanding of human resource management principles and practices. Awareness of rehabilitation and reintegration programs for offenders. Minimum Qualifications . Five years of experience in corrections, parole, or a related field.
