We’re looking for aRevenue Tax Auditor Specialist to join ourTaxpayer Compliance Division!
Preference may be given to current permanent classified employees of the Louisiana Department of Revenue.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics, or a Juris Doctorate, plus three years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus two years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
+ Responsible for establishing and implementing technical computerized tax return audit validation rules that select returns for desk audit before the issuance of bills or refunds
+ Serves as subject matter expert, requiring a strong knowledge of income taxes and the Delta system.
+ Analyze completed desk audit reviews and processed returns by examining data and supporting documents to evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of computerized return audit validation rules and desk audit selection procedures.
+ Recommend appropriate corrective action and process improvements.
+ Work with Director, Assistant Directors and other LDR business units to translate technical tax return audit validation rules into detailed application specifications for software developers.

Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if selected. If filled as a job appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available.

LDR- LA.
