Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing UPS Small Package Revenue Recovery activities. He/She is accountable for ensuring packages are sorted, spaced, and scanned for billing accuracy. He/She supervises clerks and part-time supervisors. This position analyzes forecasted volume projections to ensure adequate staffing and reviews daily operational reports to manage productivity and performance. He/She also collaborates with hub management to plan peak season and special sort activities. This position meets with union representatives to improve employee relations.  He/She also monitors results to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and agencies, ensures training documentation complies with requirements, and holds direct reports accountable for on-the-job health and safety.

Responsibilities:

Manages and works with employees to maximize efficiency and ensure packages are scanned and captured for billing.  This includes using the balanced scorecard and quality improvement process to track performance against goals, facilitating execution of a daily plan, and completing safety and annual compliance audits.Maintains operational performance by developing and implementing effective work process plans, troubleshooting service inefficiencies, reviewing work processes and schedules, and monitoring costs to budget Applies an understanding of policies and procedures to situations and operations in a business area Participates in the development and implementation of work process plans to maximize operational proficiency and achieve business results Ensures implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive health and safety plan Conducts risk management and safety compliance audits Applies knowledge of company structure and operations to resolve problems, make decisions and achieve business objectives Maintains employee safety training and certifications Applies workforce planning knowledge to evaluate labor markets and devise strategies to attract talent Determines employee training needs to produce continuous development plans Provides feedback and support Conducts performance evaluations and resolve individual and group performance issues Supports a collaborative work environment through continuous communication and relationship building Applies legal, regulatory and safety compliance knowledge to reduce company risk Assesses, identifies, measures and monitors customer or business needs and trendsCoaches and develops others using career development processes and tools  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Intermediate knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent planning and organization skills, as well as time managementAbility to work as part of the group and independentlyMust be self-driven and goal oriented.Excellent soft-skills and experience managing unionized employees.Good understanding of operational processesAbility to accept directions from multiple levels of managementExcellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to act diplomatically and with tact

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself Ability to lift 70lbs/32 kgs Ability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week
