Job Overview:
The OR Revenue Specialist has the primary responsibility of increasing and maintaining operating room profitability with the timely entering of charges. Ensures that billing is done as soon as possible to prevent delays in the charges being applied to surgical cases. The Revenue specialist initiates the billing process in a timely manner and corrects and modifies discrepancies in billing.

Associate degree in business, finance or related experience Strong analytical and computer skills with proven proficiency in ExcelPICIS as well as working knowledge of OR processes, equipment implants, staffing and procedures are essential.Ability to investigate, analyze, and problem solve,Must be able to work independently,Must be detailed oriented,Must possess strong organizational skills and time management skills.Successful completion of all Orientation Programs,Preferred:

Full-Time: 37.5 hrs.Shift: DayEssential Functions:
Complete, when necessary, with clinician input, and close all operating rooms, including cardiac and PACU records, daily, to ensure accuracy of all data and billing.Identify items not in the OR documentation system, verify information Materials Management has on file for the identified items and forward to all required personnel and systems,In collaboration with the Finance Department, they maintain 100 percent charge capture,In conjunction with the Perioperative Educators, they provide PICIS training to new staff RNs with an emphasis on charge capture,Manages revenue integrity audits and corrections daily and reconciles to ensure correct billing,Monitor and maintain tissue tracking and transplant tissue audits in Graphic Tracker to ensure full compliance with policies and regulations.Oversee the OR Billing process and execute,Utilize PDSA to continually address and improve the billing process,Review implant supply logs for all operating rooms, including cardiac and electronic operating room documentation PICIS daily to ensure accuracy and timely submission.Makes changes as needed with clinicians’ input,Train Managers, Patient Care Coordinators, Coordinators, and designees on building Preference Cards,Upon receipt of activation of charges in SMS from revenue integrity, enter the item into the OR documentation system, add to outstanding OR charges and release record to be billed.At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees’ physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
