Role OverviewThe Revenue Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, reporting, and analysis across multiple business lines. This position partners closely with FP&A, Sales, Operations, and Contracts teams to ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with ASC 606 and internal controls, while also supporting process improvement and scalable finance operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review monthly revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesEnsure compliance with ASC 606, including contract review, performance obligations, allocation, and timing of revenue recognitionPartner with cross-functional stakeholders to review customer contracts, amendments, and pricing structuresSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenueReconcile deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and other revenue-related balance sheet accountsAssist with internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and audit inquiriesDevelop and maintain revenue accounting policies and process documentationIdentify opportunities to improve revenue processes, automation, and internal controls as the business scalesSupport ad hoc analysis and special projects related to revenue and system implementationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years of revenue accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and contract-based revenue modelsExperience in a multi-entity, high-volume transaction environment preferredERP system experience and advanced Excel skillsStrong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage deadlinesExcellent communication skills and comfort partnering cross-functionallyPreferred ExperienceCPA or CPA-eligibleExperience in services-based organizations is a plusExposure to accounting system implementations or revenue automation toolsJob Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwalk, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47.00 - $57.00/hr.
