The Retirement Plan Consultant serves as the main contact and compliance expert for employer-sponsored retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), profit-sharing, and Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs). This role ensures regulatory compliance while providing consulting and client service for both single-employer and pooled plans.
ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary consultant for plan sponsors and participating employers in PEPs.Provide guidance on plan design, compliance testing, and fiduciary best practices.Perform annual compliance testing and prepare Form 5500 filings.Oversee onboarding and administration of adopting employers in PEPs.Collaborate with Pooled Plan Providers, recordkeepers, and custodians.Advise on plan mergers, terminations, and compliance corrections.Stay current on legislative and regulatory updates impacting retirement plans.Essential SkillsStrong knowledge in compliance and retirement plans.Experience with compliance testing software.Excellent customer service skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.4–8 years of experience in retirement plan administration with TPA or recordkeeper.Experience managing both single-employer and pooled employer plans (PEPs).Professional certifications (QKA, QPA, CPC, APA, APR) preferred.Proficiency with Relius, FTWilliam, ASC, and Microsoft Excel.Work EnvironmentThis is a 100% remote role, with the company based out of West Des Moines. The company has 40 total employees, with roughly 10 on the TPA side.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.65/hr.
