Amazon.com is seeking a retirement specialist to join the Global Retirement and Investments Team in Hyderabad, India. This hands-on individual contributor role will partner extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners/vendors to execute on all India retirement and service gratuity plan matters and regulatory requirements.
Qualified candidates will need to have prior pension/retirement program management experience and the ability to utilize data to make recommendations for improvements that will benefit our employees. This candidate will be responsible for the administration, governance, committee/fiduciary oversight; implementing and measuring operational and control mechanisms to ensuring plan's governance is operating within local regulations across India. Working with Benefit Teams/HR to recommend plan design changes; review and recommend changes to investment performance, costs and charges, and overall plan SLA performance.
The ideal candidate must have strong critical thinking skills, superior attention to detail with sound judgement, highly organized, analytical, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, and have a strong passion for customer service.
Key job responsibilities
* Program Management – Develop and implement solutions that improve the overall financial wellbeing of our employees through benchmarking plan strategies, investment performance monitoring and vendor communication strategies. Support strategic initiatives and objectives, providing an optimal employee experience and scaling to support future business growth. Participate in and/or lead local RFI/RFPs with working groups consisting of Amazon internal business stakeholders.
* Corporate Governance – Ensure local plans are administered in compliance with plan documents and applicable regulations, identify and build a comprehensive and sustainable compliance review for existing and new retirement plans, monitor program costs, advise on current trends and global best operational practices.
* Compliance – Manage and execute on retirement/savings related projects, audits and compliance reviews, performing or managing audits, and communicating findings, results, and remediation plans. Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop and execute on corrective action plans to resolve issues, and recommend how to avoid or handle similar situations in the future. Track and monitor new regulations and ensure compliance with international retirement plans. Create and manage project plans to ensure all deadlines are met.
* India-Focused Operations – Oversee the end-to-end management of India-specific retirement benefits, including monthly Provident Fund operations and vendor management. This encompasses monitoring submissions and payments, managing vendor relationships, and reviewing monthly invoices. The role requires strong expertise in gratuity program management, including annual insurance claim reviews and potential funding implementation across entities. The position will serve as a key point of contact for local GRIT matters and will be responsible for organizing annual employee communication sessions for the National Pension System (NPS). Additionally, the role involves staying current with and supporting the implementation of evolving Indian Labor Code changes and associated risk safeguards, ensuring Amazon's retirement programs remain compliant and effective in the Indian market.
