Retail Store Associate
**Job Description** **General Purpose** Provide excellent customer service, assisting customers with their inquiries and purchases, and ensuring the store is well-maintained, clean, and organized. Promote a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Serve as a brand ambassador for Mayfield by confidently presenting information about the company’s history, products, and plant operations to visitor groups as part of the tour and video presentation experience. **Job Duties and Responsibilities** + Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, and provide assistance with their shopping needs. Answer customer questions, provide product information, and offer suggestions or recommendations as needed + Comfortably speak to and engage with small and large groups of visitors, presenting tour information, introducing the Mayfield history video, and sharing key brand and plant information in a clear, professional, and enthusiastic manner + Support plant tour operations by helping direct visitor flow and ensuring a positive guest experience + Process customer purchases, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, and operate the cash register or point-of-sale system efficiently + Work in the ice cream dip shop to serve guests, scoop ice cream, and deliver a positive, engaging visitor experience consistent with Mayfield brand standards + Acquire an understanding of the products sold in the store. Stay up-to-date with new arrivals, promotions, and special offers to effectively assist customers in finding the right products + Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally and escalate issues to the store manager if necessary, aiming to achieve a satisfactory resolution + Stock, rotate, and organize shelves and displays; ensure that products are properly labeled and priced + Keep store looking clean and organized; perform daily assigned cleaning jobs + Help monitor inventory levels and notify supervisor when products need to be replenished or reordered. Assist in regular inventory counts + Be vigilant for shoplifting or fraudulent activities and report any suspicious behavior or incidents to the store security or management + Answer incoming calls in a positive, professional manner + Complete shipping activities (e.g., UPS) + Follow all safety and sanitation procedures + The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required **Requirements** **Education and Experience** + High school diploma or equivalent preferred + 0 to 1 year of retail, customer service, or related experience **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** + Strong customer service skills + Comfortable speaking in front of groups and presenting information in an engaging, professional manner + Able to complete basic arithmetic, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division + Able to handle cash transactions accurately + Able to respond courteously and efficiently to inquiries, complaints, and requests + Able to project a professional image + Able to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and groups + Able to work in a team-oriented environment + Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment + Must be able to read, write and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/Veterans **Pay Range** 18.60
