Retail Simplification Manager

Job Description

Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Oshawa Elevation Centre three times per week, at minimum.

Reporting to the Retail Simplification & Innovation Manager, the Retail Simplification Manager finds opportunities within the organization to streamline processes, remove complexities, and improve overall efficiency.

The Retail Simplification Manager is expected to engage with key stakeholders, analyze current processes to pinpoint areas where complexity can be reduced, utilize data and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and inefficiencies and develop and implement simplification strategies and action plans.

The ideal candidate for this role embodies the GM behaviours and is motivated by the desire to continue to drive process improvements internally and within our Dealer Network. The ability to collaborate as well as manage multiple ambiguous and fast-paced priorities is key. Previous project management experience is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with different teams within the organization (Regions, Dealers, Brand Team, AfterSales Team, Finance, etc.) to find potential simplification opportunities

Observe current processes within the organization and find simplifications opportunities based on your own observations

Create briefing document confirming objectives & alignments of the simplification project with the key stakeholders involved

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into improved solutions.

Document current and future state processes and create standardized procedures

Act as a project manager, overseeing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Adjust and refine processes based on feedback and performance data.

Present the outcome of simplification projects throughout different channels of communications

Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and devise creative and effective solutions.

Active Listening: Engaging with stakeholders to understand their perspectives, challenges, and ideas for simplification.

Data Analysis: Expertise in gathering, interpreting, and applying data to pinpoint inefficiencies, measure performance, and support decision-making.

Research & Information Synthesis: Ability to gather relevant information from various sources and distill it into actionable insights. 

Communication: Communicating findings in a straightforward, understandable manner to various audiences

Comfort working with ambiguity – able to bring clarity and focus to ambiguous situations.

Strong time management skills – can prioritize and work independently under tight deadlines.

Must be results-driven, highly organized, and self-motivated; taking initiative and following-  through  

Education & Training

Post Secondary Education required

Previous field sales experience considered an asset

Previous experience within VSSM considered an asset

Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset

Advanced excel, powerpoint skills required
