RETAIL RECEIVING CLERK

 

Main responsibilities:

Receive all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and individual vendor deliveries. Verify accuracy of invoices and ensure proper documentation. Maintain cost, quality, and inventory control through auditing and electronic systems. Organize and maintain the receiving, storage, and loading dock areas. Handle damaged or spoiled products, including repair, pricing, or return. Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, compactors, and hand-held devices. Train employees on store policies and record-keeping procedures. Maintain accurate department records and comply with company policies. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment. Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions.  

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Soft skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional demeanor with customers and co-workers. Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Competencies:

Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Organizational skills for managing inventory and records. Problem-solving abilities in handling discrepancies and equipment issues.

Knowledge:

Basic mathematics and weights/measures. Product variety, perishability, and handling standards. Company policies and procedures related to receiving and inventory.

Abilities:

Lift and maneuver items up to 60 lbs. Operate various equipment safely and efficiently. Stand for long periods and perform repetitive movements.

Educational requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Travel requirements:

Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required.

Other requirements:

Must comply with grooming and dress code standards. Good attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay transparency language:

The pay range is $19.38 to $19.38 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
