Key Details: 

Hybrid Program: This internship is a hybrid program based in Miami, Florida. Students must be available for the entire duration of the program and willing to work a hybrid schedule, combining both in-office and remote work. This is a full-time opportunity, with interns working 40 hours per week. While hours may vary, interns can expect to work from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. 

Relocation Support: Carnival provides housing for interns who are relocating to Miami for the summer. 

Eligibility: Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are preferred for the program. 

Technical Requirements: Interns will be provided with a company-issued laptop and will need reliable internet when working remotely.

Corporate IT – Reservation Experience (ResX) 

Department Summary 

The Reservation Experience (ResX) Team supports the reservations software ecosystem across five cruise brands with a north star to deliver an amazing guest and partner experience. Within ResX, the product team maximizes IT investment by driving high-impact projects in partnership with business and engineering. Product Owners innovate, drive high service levels, and use the roadmap as a vehicle to improve guest experience while modernizing our systems.  

 

Internship Project Summary 

Project Title: Unified Shopping Cart for E-Commerce 

Objective: The intern will scope and gather requirements for the Unified Shopping Cart project. This project will allow our brands to transform the ways customers shop by “basket building” in the checkout flow. This involves working with product, tech, and e-commerce stakeholders in booking and pricing domains. It will include research and discovery work, as well as wireframing.  

 

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities) 

 

Drive a project on the ResX strategic roadmap 

Define and socialize new product features to elevate the customer experience.  

Incorporate feedback from senior leaders  

Build relationships with stakeholders and ensure alignment with business goals. 

Lead discovery sessions, requirements gathering, business impact estimation, and cost calculation for features and services.  

 

Learning Outcomes 

 

Gain hands-on experience in writing software product requirements 

Develop product ownership skills like discovery and prioritization 

Learn how to communicate to developers, business stakeholders, and executives. 

Learn how to turn business ideas into working software  

 

Specific Qualifications 

Skills: Communication and organization 

Preferred Experience: Coursework or prior experience in data analysis 

Technical: Engineering degree, computer science, or information systems degree.
