The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a talented Restaurant General Manager to oversee Serẽa, our sea-to-table dining experience offering elevated coastal cuisine with a Mediterranean flair!
It’s an exciting time to join the resort with a recently completed $200M renovation project that included additional banquet space and other exciting F&B enhancements. Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 700 rooms (to include cottages and villas), 96,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace, and ice cream shop.
Serẽa, created by Clique Hospitality, offers a robust, environmentally friendly menu that includes raw and cooked options—from fresh whole catch, to seafood towers and composed dishes. The menu at Serẽa showcases the comprehensive, complex and expressive flavor profiles of the best fresh fish, intricate seafood and heritage meats the region has to offer, prepared by San Diego native and Clique Hospitality Executive Chef and Partner, JoJo Ruiz.
Classification: Full-Time
Shift: Various – must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this role is $90,000 - $95,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
What will I be doing?
As a Restaurant General Manager, you would be responsible for directing and administering the activities and services of a designated restaurant(s) in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitationMonitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and rewardCreate and maintain customer database and partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategyMaximize efficiency technology system(s) (i.e. Open Table)Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordinglyEnsure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standardsInitiate and implement up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue, including, but not limited to, creating new menus and cross-selling products and services hotel-wideRecruit, interview and train team membersWhat are we looking for?
