The Role:
The RESS Laser Weld Engineer will be assigned to the battery department inside the plant and will be responsible for supporting the implementation of battery weld process equipment throughout launch and ongoing operations. This individual must have the ability to collaborate with all shop floor personnel, work with little direction, and have problem resolution skills. Additionally, you must be willing to support the implementation process of a GPS product inside a vehicle assembly plant.

Promotes, educates, communicates and follows up on safety initiativesMust be willing to rotate shifts & communicate status to following shiftsSupport Red/Yellow/Green tag process for equipment installation with execution counterpartsParticipate in PFMEA, SFMEA, PCP, and G-Risk meetingsSupport equipment debug process with ME/Execution counterpartsUpdate area of responsibility and participate in the Launch wall meetingsWorks with operations to identify and develop the Battery training skilled operators and ensure its implementedApply production knowledge to analyze major design, tooling and specification for SPQRC issuesSupports GMS activities and implementationLead TIP throughout battery assembly area

5 or more years of Manufacturing experienceEngineering degree from ABET-accredited university OR equivalent experienceDeep technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplinesAbility to work weekends and overtime on an as needed basisAbility to rotate shifts as neededAbility to travel around 25% of the time during 1st year (domestic and international)Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Product Launches (automotive preferred)Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar
