Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.
Seeking an experienced, patient Child Respite Provider to spend time with an energetic young boy with special needs in his home.  The child is on the autism spectrum and is verbally limited. He is trying new foods and getting used to different food textures as they work to hopefully remove his G-tube. Your respite skills are needed to give Mom a break for self-care while having fun while working! This boy enjoys animals, ABCs, books, cars, counting/numbers, shape sorters, parks, and puzzles.
Location: Wausau, WI
Wage: $17.66 per hour (for shifts 8 hours or less)               $256.00 per day (for shifts longer than 8 hours) 
Schedule: 4 days per month                         Saturdays preferred                         Weekday late afternoon (4pm – pick up/take home for respite shifts)
Responsibilities:    Provider companionship and constant supervision    Assist with toilet training – clean-up/wiping    Assist with meals & snacks - encourage boy to try new things    Pick up from Program location and take him to his homeQualifications:     Valid Driver’s License, Reliable Vehicle, and auto insurance     Experience working with children with Autism     Familiar with G-Tube feedings     Age 18 or older at start of employment     Willing to undergo a caregiver background check     Family prefers female providers
