Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.
We are seeking an experienced Child Respite Provider to support a young boy with special needs at his home or in the community. This boy has a diagnosis of autism and is nonverbal. Respite allows the parents/main caregivers time away for their own self-care. The ideal candidate will have high energy, confidence, be kind, reliable, and trustworthy. He has an adaptive bike and loves to swim.
Location: Green Bay, WI Pay: $20 per hour Hours per week: 10 hours per month (prefer Friday or Saturday nights).
Tasks: • Constant supervision • Companionship • Provide motivation for the boy to be active • Redirect behaviors if needed • Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, toileting, meal prep, medications, errands and outings
Skills: • Compassionate and patient demeanor • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to follow instructions and work independently • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy
Requirements: • Valid Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, & auto insurance • Authorized to work in the United States • Have 1st Aid and CPR Certifications • Experience working with NON-VERBAL children with autism and behaviors. • Patient, trustworthy, and reliable. • Willing to undergo a caregiver background check prior to hire
