Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist in the bronch procedure space (Pulm Func Tech) functions independently or in collaboration with physicians or other health care providers. Performs all necessary tests related to the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary diseases to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages in compliance with the accepted professional, departmental, and hospital standards, while maintaining the daily operations of the hospital-based Mayo Procedural Space / Bronchoscopy Lab. Performs required tasks for Interventional Pulmonary / Bronchoscopy Procedure space, including but not limited to: Robotic Bronchoscopies, Tranplant Bronchoscopies, Inpatient Bronchoscopies, EBUS, and other Advanced Interventional Pulmonology procedures. Responsibilities include completing all necessary documentation, coordinating patient transport to and from procedure room, monitoring patient during procedure, preparing for and assisting with specimen retrieval, completing lab specimen forms, maintaining working knowledge of all bronchoscopy equipment, and other needs as necessary. Must display proficiency of procedures performed by Respiratory Services in critical and non-critical care patients according to current departmental policies and procedures. The Pulm Func Tech will provide/develop leadership through actively participate in roles such as mentorship, onboarding of new Pulm Func Techs, committee involvement, and professional quality improvement projects as needed. The Bronch RRT will operate within department/institutional procedures and guidelines in conjunction with the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) guidelines to function independently and use critical thinking to master skills, such as, cardiopulmonary assessment, mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, Artline insertion, airway management, bedside and procedure space procedures, and other RRT related skills and tasks. Responsible for maintaining National and State licensure

Successful completion of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) approved Respiratory Therapy program. 

Additional Qualifications:

B.S. degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred. Previous Bronchoscopy Procedure experience preferred. Additional NBRC credentials preferred.Basic computer literacy

License/Certifications:

National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist credential Active Florida Respiratory Therapist License Both required before first day of employment and must be maintained throughout duration of employment.

Compensation Detail

Experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $32.43 - $48.66 / hour

Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, this is a supplemental position all shifts will be as needed.
