Respiratory Equipment TechDescription:
Perform inventory, cleaning, sterilizing, and replenishing equipment and supplies. Maintains par cart levels with Respiratory Care supplies and equipment. Identifies equipment due for preventative maintenance and places work orders for repair. Manages code and airway boxes in conjunction with Pharmacy and Sterile Supply. Manages medical gas cylinders and insures safe storage and transport. Assist with new employee orientation.
Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
No experience required.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years (2) of healthcare supply experience preferred. Possesses the ability to learn and perform all processes related to Respiratory Care Services supplies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversees the distribution process of respiratory care equipment and medical gas for the facility. 2. Responsible for retrieving, cleaning, stocking, and assembling equipment used in the respiratory care department. 3. In conjunction with Biomed, manages the respiratory equipment maintenance schedule by locating and assisting in the retrieval of equipment due for preventative maintenance. 4. Assists in quality control and infection control activities related to respiratory equipment and/or medical gas distribution. 5. Maintains records related to the ordering, distribution, and tracking of liquid oxygen and medical gas cylinders. 6. Ensures that equipment inventory is maintained to meet the par levels of the respiratory department and that the equipment decontamination process is performed correctly. 7. In conjunction with Supervisor, manage the departments rental equipment process, to include database and data entry. 8. Create requisitions for invoice payments, reconcile invoices for medical gases (cylinders and bulk) with accounting, and perform customer service follow up. 9. Manage all airway boxes and prepare them for code carts.
