Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. Performs a mixture of direct patient care and supervision of therapists, technicians and students.
Responsible for patient evaluations with modifications in therapy as indicated.
Responsible for assigning workload among staff evenly & fairly as possible
Responsible for arterial line insertions.
Perform ventilators & patient rounding.
Monitoring of staffs’ completion of plan of care, bedside report given, & side effects documentation.
Assists in training of staff for DNV & other trainings with attention to departmental policy & procedures.
Participates in pre-employment interviews.
Responsible for completion of staff performance evaluations.
Exercises sound clinical judgment & assessment skills to provide appropriate provision of patient care & monitoring & communication of information to other caregivers.
Participates in all aspects of RC educational activities & departmental meetings.
Documents & maintains records, charts, and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensures Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts are responded to in timely manner.
Asses the need for respiratory equipment & supplies for quality patient care.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Respiratory Director.
Work Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly
Qualifications:
3 years of experience in Respiratory Care.
Participation in the National Board for Respiratory Care and Lead Therapist.
Participation in the National Board for Respiratory Care’s (NBRC) continuing Competency Program to maintain credential if received credential after July 1, 2002.
