Respiratory Care and Sleep Manager
Mary Greeley Medical Center – Ames, Iowa Full-Time | Leadership | On-Site Mary Greeley Medical Center (MGMC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Care and Sleep Manager to lead and coordinate services across inpatient respiratory care, diagnostics, pulmonary rehab, and neurodiagnostics. This leadership role is essential to ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and operational excellence across multiple cardiopulmonary service lines. Key Responsibilities: + Oversee daily operations and staffing for respiratory care, diagnostics (PFTs, Bronchs, EKGs, Echos), pulmonary rehab, EEG, and sleep services. + Provide management and therapist call coverage as needed. + Maintain Blood Gas Lab accreditation standards and quality control. + Lead patient care conferences and discharge planning, including the Transition Care Program. + Coordinate annual Skills Day and ongoing staff competency assessments. + Train staff on new equipment and clinical initiatives. + Collaborate with medical directors and department leadership on quality management and capital planning. + Maintain accreditation for the Sleep Lab, including AASM site visits and reporting. + Manage internal and external referrals and departmental work queues. About the Role: The Respiratory Care and Sleep Manager plays a critical role in ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and staff development across a diverse range of cardiopulmonary services. This position requires strong clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to foster collaboration across departments and disciplines. Required Education, Licensure, Certification, Experience: + Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. + Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire. + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire. + Mandatory Reporter training within 90 days of hire. + Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as an RRT. Preferred Education, Licensure, Certification, Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or related field. + Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. + Sleep Disorder Specialist certification.
