The CSS Resilience Manager will strengthen the resilience of the commodity support services supply chain within the LCST (Logistics Commodities and Services Transformation) contract.
The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks in supplier networks — including contested supply chains — to ensure operational continuity in a complex Defence logistics environment. While not a procurement role, the position requires a strong understanding of supplier management, procurement processes, and supply chain vulnerabilities, working closely within the Operations team to safeguard supply security and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Resilience & Risk Management:Identify, assess, and manage risks within the commodity supply chain, with particular focus on contested and high-risk supply routesMap supplier networks to Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels to understand dependencies and vulnerabilitiesMonitor and analyse global and regional events that could disrupt supply (e.g., geopolitical risks, sanctions, transportation constraints)Develop contingency and mitigation plans to reduce supplier and supply chain exposure to riskWork with internal functions to ensure continuity of supply during disruptions, including implementing alternative sourcing strategies in coordination with procurement teamsStakeholder & Supplier Engagement:Engage directly with procurement teams & suppliers to assess resilience capabilities and readiness to respond to supply chain disruptionsFacilitate resilience maturity reviewsBuild collaborative relationships with key suppliers to encourage proactive risk identification and shared resilience planningPartner with the procurement team to embed and understand resilience considerations into supplier selection and contract managementOperational Support & Incident Management:Act as the resilience lead for commodity support services during incidents affecting supply availabilityCoordinate with procurement, and operations teams to enable rapid recovery and continuity of supplyProvide post-incident analysis and recommendations to prevent recurrenceEssential Experience & Skills:
Strong understanding of procurement principles, supplier onboarding, and contract management (without needing to run procurement processes)Strong analytical and risk assessment skills, with the ability to interpret supply chain dataConfident communicator, able to influence stakeholders across different organisationsDesired Experience & Skills:
Understanding of commodity supply markets, including global trade routes and geopolitical risk factorsProven experience in supply chain management or supplier risk management, or business continuity within a complex, multi-tier supplier environmentExperience assessing contested supply chains and implementing mitigation strategiesAn understanding of supplier resilience assessments and auditsKnowledge of digital supply chain mapping and risk intelligence tools.Awareness of compliance frameworks for international trade, export controls, and sanctionsPrevious experience using Power BI to transform data into meaningful insights would be considered advantageousQualifications:

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD's materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs).

Pay Range:£40,600.00-£52,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
