What you'll do:
Manage a varied caseload of residential property transactions from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring all processes are handled efficiently and accurately. Prepare, review, and finalise legal documentation related to property sales and purchases, including contracts, transfer deeds, and mortgage documents. Conduct thorough property searches and due diligence checks to identify any potential issues or risks associated with each transaction. Negotiate contract terms with other solicitors and relevant parties while maintaining clear communication with clients throughout the process. Liaise effectively with estate agents, mortgage lenders, surveyors, local authorities, and other stakeholders involved in the conveyancing process. Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements governing property transactions and maintain up-to-date records at every stage. Provide clear advice and guidance to clients on their rights, obligations, and options during the course of their property transaction. Resolve queries promptly by drawing on your knowledge of conveyancing procedures and demonstrating sensitivity to clients’ individual circumstances. Maintain accurate case files using case management systems while adhering to internal policies regarding confidentiality and data protection. Contribute positively to team meetings by sharing insights on best practices in residential conveyancing and supporting colleagues as needed.What you bring:
Demonstrated experience handling residential property conveyancing matters independently from instruction through completion within a legal practice setting. Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and finalising legal documents such as contracts for sale/purchase, transfer deeds, mortgage agreements, and completion statements. Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication abilities when dealing with clients or third parties involved in transactions. A proven track record of conducting detailed property searches (including local authority searches) as part of due diligence processes prior to exchange or completion. Exceptional organisational skills enabling you to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality. Comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to residential conveyancing including anti-money laundering procedures. A client-focused mindset demonstrated by your commitment to providing responsive support tailored specifically for each client’s situation. Familiarity with using digital case management systems for maintaining accurate records securely throughout each transaction lifecycle. Ability to resolve queries efficiently by applying sound judgement alongside up-to-date knowledge of conveyancing law and practice guidelines. A collaborative approach that fosters positive relationships within teams as well as external partners such as estate agents or mortgage providers.
