About the Role

The primary responsibility is to develop the hardware/software architecture/internal requirement document according to analysis on customer requirement and internal platform requirement and provide decomposed major building blocks to related disciplines in Harman. This position will be the bridge between the customer and internal engineering teams and clarify customer requirement with customer/internal teams in order to avoid any misunderstanding and/or misinterpretation and to prevent any conflict/gap between customer requirement and internal platform requirement. The Successful candidate will have a demonstrated to track records of success with telematics engineering and customer facing interaction. Your Team

Position will report to lead PM of program and organization perspective to report head of engineering or requirement department head.

What You Will Do

· Based on customer requirement and internal standard, generic platform requirement, MNO requirement, wireless standard and regulation,

· Distribute customer requirement to project stakeholders (e.g. Functional Owner, Project Manager) for analysis and derivation of system requirement.

· Analyze and manage change request from a customer or internal. (Store change records and maintain traceability.)

· Act as representing person from entire Harman team, lead customer communications to get consensus with a customer when internal team raises a proposal.

· Work closely with other team members, includes PM, hardware engineers, software engineers, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality assurance departments to drive successful project delivery to meet timing, cost and quality.

· Initial troubleshooting for the issue which was happened in customer test/evaluation, and support of customer test and evaluation.

· Learn Mazda’s development process and activities, and deploy those skillset into Harman’s entire development team.

What You Need

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and engineering experience in electronic or automotive business for at least 3 years for Sr. Engineer.

· Basic knowledge on SW/HW architectures and Mobile Wireless Technology (DSPs, ARM, Memories, Multicore processing, WiFi, 5G, 4G/LTE, 3G, CDMA, 2G, Bluetooth).

· Fluent in Japanese (Read, Write and Speaking) to communicate with customers.

· Experience in Customer Relationship (JOEMs) especially Mazda.

· Harman’s basic project management and overall operation (BMS)

What is Nice to Have

· System understanding in Telematics products.

· Automotive Parts/System development experiences preferred.

· Automotive CAN experiences preferred.

· Automotive Ethernet experience preferred.

· Embedded system and software development and model-based familiarity desired

· Knowledge of Requirement Management tool DNG (DOORs).

· Knowledge of process models (e.g., Automotive SPICE)

· Business level English preferred

What Makes You Eligible

· Be willing to travel up to 25%, domestic and international travel.

· Be willing to work in an office, client-site (Hiroshima), and home office

· This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years
