Pay Rate: $15.60 – $18.31 / hour
Location: Elderwood Village at Colonie, 626 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110
Shift: Hours vary; mix of mornings and evenings

Responsibilities Responsibilities:As a Resident Activities Program Coordinator / Activity Leader, you will:
Assist the Director of Activities in planning and carrying out the activities program.
Approach residents on assigned units to plan individual recreational and social activities; report to the Director of Activities on resident engagement and response.
Prepare resident information for care planning and documentation; write progress notes as assigned.
Develop and maintain good contact with community resources to enhance the activities program.
Maintain departmental inventory of equipment and supplies.
Keep attendance records and prepare other required reports.
Qualifications Qualifications:Minimum 18 years of age; High School diploma or equivalent required
Valid New York Driver’s License with clean driving record
Ability to develop strong relationships with staff, volunteers, families, and visitors
Ability to inspire and motivate residents, create a warm and welcoming environment, and adapt activities to resident needs
Understanding of residents’ rights and needs
Physical stamina for constant activity
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
