Reservoir Engineer
Air Swift
Job Title: Reservoir Engineer
Location:
Doha, Qatar (Office-based, standard working hours: 5 days/week)
Purpose of the Role
Maximize production from reservoirs through effective reservoir management practices, surveillance plans, and identification of opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities Identification, planning, and close follow-up of the reservoir surveillance plans for the reservoir. Identification and follow-up of reservoir management activities to maximize production, voidage replacement improvement, and reduce the production decline rates Perform simulation and special studies related to well performance improvement initiatives Use of segmented well modeling (IX), both 3D and Single Well Models to optimize and design KB wells. Opportunities identification and maturation to FID (RD Workovers, Tubing Change-outs, Integrity WO, Stimulation...) for production and injection improvements Timely generation of monthly unconstrained profiles for short-term production forecast (Rolling Forecast) New wells and work-overs post-mortem synthesis Wells & Well Patterns reviews, and identify remedial actions WAG cycles optimization, execution, and follow-up Surfactant pilots maturation, execution and monitoring Support Profiles and Reserves team by providing data for Integrated Asset Modelling Support IRM team for NFA unconstrained profiles aggregation and analysis Effective collaboration between KB RMO and company entities. Provide support to team members
Technical Activities Perform detailed wells performance analysis and post-mortem synthesis. Perform subsurface studies to improve production and injection (slugging, NFA decline analysis, stabilization analysis, GL optimization, etc.). Perform simulation studies (IX) to define optimum injection (water and WAG), short-term forecasting, and voidage replacement improvement. Use of simulation and 4D seismic to identify optimum zonal shifting and injection schemes to increase sweep efficiency. Segmented well modelling (IX) both in 3D and Single Well Models to optimize and design complex wells. Identify and prioritize reservoir surveillance plans and ensure close follow-up. Identify opportunities, ranking, and maturation (re-drills, workovers, stimulation, etc.) until FID. Lead light workovers maturation (tubing change-out) until final SOR. Maintain and close follow-up of opportunities hopper. Support WAG cycles optimization, execution, and follow-up. Support the maturation of Surfactant pilots, execution, and follow-up. Contribute to the generation of the yearly reservoir management plans and ensure their execution. Prepare and present the Quarterly Reservoir Management reviews to SH’s. Perform decline curve analysis and generate the monthly unconstrained profiles for the rolling forecast. Define completion strategies for future wells supported by simulation studies and 4D seismic. Support the New Well Delivery team all along the WO’s SOR process
Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering or Petroleum Engineering (Master’s preferred). Experience: Minimum 6+ years in a subsurface organization. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of reservoir management and surveillance processes. Hands-on experience with dynamic modeling tools (Eclipse, IX, Petrel) and history matching. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach. Ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams. Strong internal and external networking skills.
