Research Technician II - Wu Lab

The Wu Lab studies the mechanisms of innate immunity and how they influence adaptive immunity, inflammation, and cancer, focusing on the cGAS-STING pathway. Using diverse research approaches and mouse models, the lab aims to uncover new immune regulatory mechanisms to inform the development of novel immunotherapies for cancer and inflammatory diseases. As a Research Technician on our team, you will perform laboratory techniques and procedures for assigned experimental studies, assist with scheduling analyses, and conduct tests utilizing various equipment and instrumentation. You will also compile experimental results for staff, reviewing and managing the ordering of laboratory supplies and equipment. Read more about the Wu Lab: Jianjun Wu Laboratory (https://www.lerner.ccf.org/immunotherapy/wu/) **A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.** **_Start and end times are flexible as long as hours are completed._** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies. + Perform technical lab duties. + Schedule and perform various analyses. + Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses. + Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances. + Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation. + Accumulate data from analyses. + Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms. + Maintain mouse colony and their responses. + Maintain BRU mouse healthy reports. + Track mouse genotyping. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED **and** two years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment + **OR** an Associate's degree in a laboratory science field **and** one year of work experience + **OR** a Bachelor's degree Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Master's or Bachelor's degree + Comfortable handling mice + Biology or medicine background/experience + Experience with genotyping **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods + Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information + Ability to distinguish color + Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment + Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds + May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $18.88 Maximum hourly: $28.80 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
