As Research Technician II, you will join Dr. Chung and her team of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and research students. In this role, your work will include both research and administrative tasks, such as performing tissue cultures, feeding Cardiomyocytes, maintaining iPSC lines and creating engineered heart tissues. Your efforts are integral to innovative and exciting developments, and you will receive extensive hands-on training and experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity to explore the Research Career Pathway. 

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Perform laboratory techniques, procedures and technical lab duties required for experimental studies.  Schedule and perform various analyses.  Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.  Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances. Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment/instrumentation and accumulate data from analyses.  Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR Associate’s Degree in a laboratory science field and one year of work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree Comfortable handling animals 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

Experience in cell cultures
