Here's a Glimpse of the Job
We are looking to hire a Research Technician to create research stimuli for an ongoing lab project. This position should have a strong ability to produce realistic drawings, as you will be responsible for designing and rendering lifelike graphics, animations, and other visual elements for use in various digital and print media. Additionally, you will be collaborating closely with our P.I., Dr. Midgette and her research team to ensure design consistency across all channels.
Opportunities to Contribute:
+ Prepare rough drafts according to requirements.
+ Redefine designs with illustration software.
+ Use various colors, graphics and effects to better visualize project concepts.
+ Ensure that illustrations meet quality and color standards.
+ Define time and budget limitations per design or project.
+ Participate in design briefs with editors and/or Principal Investigators (PIs) and collaborators.
+ Effectively communicates design concepts, rationale, and feedback to editors, PIs and collaborators.
+ Addresses design challenges and finds creative solutions.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma.
+ 2 years of related or relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Previous experience conducting research in social psychology, developmental psychology, or a related field is a plus.
+ Experience with recruitment events and advertising.
+ Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
+ Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
+ Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
+ Ability to create compelling visuals that convey project goals.
+ Proficient in software such as Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe, etc.
+ Strong focus on detail to ensure high-quality and precise illustrations.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
