Job Description:
We are seeking a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Sustainability Research Scientist to join our team. This role involves conducting assessments of environmental issues across various business segments and evaluating sustainability impacts throughout the value chain. The ideal candidate should possess strong industry experience in modeling complex systems, developing LCAs and emission factors (EFs), collecting and analyzing data, and reporting results through visualizations and metrics. You must be adept at working with imperfect data and quantifying sources of uncertainty.
Responsibilities:
+ Create and maintain LCA methodologies and models, including experimentation with footprint methods.
+ Develop documentation and annotations for scaling purposes.
+ Ideate and interpret innovative methods and standards.
+ Conduct audits and perform validations of methodologies or complex models.
+ Encode methods into existing model architecture.
Skills:
+ Strong mathematical skills and systems thinking.
+ Working knowledge of scientific methods and international standards such as GHG Protocol and ISO.
+ Proficiency in Ecoinvent, GaBi, and USEEIO databases.
+ Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams at the interface of environmental and computer sciences.
+ Knowledge of R or Python.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field.
+ Minimum of 3 years of quantitative field research experience.
+ 1-2 years of directly-related commercial experience.
+ Project Management experience is beneficial but not required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
