GENERAL SUMMARY:
Work independently on progressively complex projects/assignments in collaboration with leadership including the Principal Investigator, Senior Bioscientific Staff, and/or Director or Vice President. Independently manage all aspects of a large study or one or more small-medium research projects from start-up to closeout, or ongoing research functions. Oversee day-to-day operations of team members working on studies or projects. May provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members. May train, and/or mentor new staff or students, as assigned. Assist in the development of new programs or special projects within the department.
In addition, Responsible for managing, organizing, and conducting all facets of laboratory animal methodology, training, documentation, and compliance for animal facility faculty and staff. Reviews and monitors animal research activities to assure compliance with approved research protocol procedures and all applicable regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and nine (9) years of relevant experience, including at least four (4) years of research experience; experience leading cross functional teams or a small to moderate sized project OR Master's degree in a related field with four (4) years of relevant experience and competency, including at least two (2) years of research experience. Experience working in a team orientated environment and comfortable working with cross-function teams required. Strong customer service, critical thinking and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a general knowledge of medical terminology preferred.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
CAP-M or PMI Project Management Professional certification or similar preferred. Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification preferred.
