Research Nurse
Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse
Job Description

This role involves working in a rotating shift system with weekends included every other week. Shift start times vary from early morning, late afternoon, to midnight. Schedules are generally set 2-3 weeks in advance. The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for overseeing study unit activities during clinical trials, focusing on participant safety and welfare.

ResponsibilitiesEnroll patients into clinical trials through the Informed Consent process, educating and informing participants about study procedures.Utilize nursing skills, knowledge, and clinical judgment to provide high-quality care to clinical trial participants.Observe participants for general well-being and potential adverse events using nursing assessment skills.Document adverse events and take necessary actions.Perform study-related activities including cannulation, telemetry, holters, vital signs, ECGs, and venipuncture.Collect and process biological samples in accordance with protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.Record data accurately and timely according to protocol and SOPs.Transcribe source data onto the Case Report Form.Essential SkillsActive Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Wisconsin, in good standing.Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing (ASN or BSN).0-3 years of nursing experience in a patient-facing setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in clinical research is preferred.CPR and ACLS certifications.Work Environment

The candidate will work in a Phase I Clinical Research Unit located in Madison, WI. The work environment includes extensive training in clinical research and offers opportunities for skill advancement in both clinical and regulatory areas. The role provides a comprehensive training program tailored to clinical research and study-specific needs. Shift hours are varied with rotations, and the atmosphere is conducive to professional growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
