What You'll Do
BCG’s Vantage Global Research Organization (GRO) is a cross-regional team of junior research professionals that provides PA/Geo topic and sector-aligned research and insights
As a Research Manager within the GRO team, you will be primarily responsible for the professional development of Research Associates based in Europe. This includes guiding individuals in their career development, while also collaborating with the Hub Director to coordinate and address research business needs. In addition, you will contribute to GRO hub/office level decisions, activities and initiatives such as hiring, training, special projects, team building activities etc.
You will manage a team of around 6-10 people and extended team members as needed and will be responsible to coach, mentor and develop people, with full ownership of their career development and performance management. You will shape positive, creative working relationships with internal business partners in one or more Practice Areas
You're Good At
Team management and development
• Managing and coaching teams to deliver high-quality work and achieve service objectives such as utilization and positive customer feedback
• Acting as a role model and motivating others by communicating team vision and plans and driving delivery
• Applying strong accuracy and attention to detail when independently managing industry-aligned research delivery team members and other resources in the region
• Coaching junior colleagues on GenAI tools to select the most appropriate techniques and produce best-in-class research outputs and analyses
Acting as thought partner and strategic thinker
• Using problem-solving and lateral thinking skills to manage business relationships with regional team leadership and partner with stakeholders on both transactional and strategic dimensions
• Serving as an effective networker and thought partner with senior team members
• Collaborating with Research Manager peers globally to ensure excellent team coordination and strategic direction, while enabling smooth collaboration with other GRO hubs/offices
Offering exceptional levels of customer service
• Interfacing confidently with stakeholders and collaborating effectively with both leaders and peers within the team
• Applying proven research skills and strong knowledge to bring industry expertise into a commercial context
• Using proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with strong communication skills
Working flexibly in a fast-paced environment
• Prioritizing and multi-tasking effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Keeping up with industry trends, sources, and methods, and performing research when needed
Who You'll Work With
• 6–8+ years of relevant work experience across one or more industries, such as Industrial Goods, Healthcare, Public Sector, Consumer, Technology, Marketing, Travel, Infrastructure, PIPE, Financial Institutions, etc.
• Master’s degree preferred, with a strong academic record.
• Consulting experience with a focus on research and analysis is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with GenAI tools and the ability to apply them effectively in day-to-day work.
• Proven ability to manage business processes and collaborate with a diverse, global set of senior stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
