Job Summary
This person will assist in design, and conduct, and analyze experiments for the Program in Vascular Defense and Discovery, working under Dr. David Pinskys supervision. This position will help to design and run translational research experiments related to the overarching theme of vascular defense and discovery. Specific areas of emphasis will be on planning, execution, and analysis of both in vitro and in vivo experiments related to the vascular response to injury, with relevance to various diseases such as heart attack, stroke, pulmonary hypertension, atherosclerosis, heart failure, venous thrombosis, and others. The common intersection is understanding the nexus between inflammation and coagulation and how blood vessels maintain homeostasis in health. The value for the organization is that this position will help us advance our understanding of disease mechanisms which may potentially lead to new diagnostics or therapeutic approaches. It will enable the PI to write papers, apply for extramural funding, and help post-doctoral trainees (funded by the T32) advance their own work under the supervision of Dr. Pinsky.
