Job Summary

The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a 1-year term limited research lab specialist associate to participate in a highly collaborative team.   

Responsibilities*Retrospective data collection for various skull base, neurooncology and spine projects Data collection for collaboration as part the of several multicenter research consortium  Data analysis and manuscript drafting for peer-reviewed publications Collaboration with other UM neurosurgery faculty on various outlined shared projects with PI approval Obtaining patient consent and tracking data for various clinical research projects Drafting and submission of grants Weekly coordination of research efforts for the virtual skull base outcomes lab  Weekly meetings with PI to discuss research updates Required Qualifications*BS in biomedical science, statistics, or related fieldAt least 1 year prior research experience Knowledge of basic statistical analysis using statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, STATA, Graphpad), Excel not included; A strong interest in conducting biomedical research, clinical outcomes studies and translational research;  Completion of vaccination, clinical research and HIPAA requirements for any patient facing roles; Excellent communication and writing skills, and a commitment to engaging in highly collaborative team science. Desired Qualifications*Active enrollment or completion of medical doctorate preferred Work Locations

This is an in person work assignment at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

Additional Information

This is a 1 year term-limited appointment. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and you will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
