The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position. **Responsibilities*** The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine has an open Research Investigator position to join our faculty in Ann Arbor, MI. Successful candidate will focus on the synthetic route for our series of PAPP-A inhibitors and preparing a publication to report the first small-molecule PAPP-A inhibitors. Other Responsibilities: + Prepare grant applications focused on validating PAPP-A + Prepare a disclosure and patent application + Synthesizing the most potent inhibitors on a larger scale for upcoming in vivo studies. + Publications on small-molecule PAPP-A inhibitors + Novel compounds as pharmacological tools + Synthesis of peptidomimetics-including inhibitors and PROTACs + Targeting the MLL-oncofusion partners AF9 and ENL + Leadership and supervision to more junior lab members. **Required Qualifications*** + This position requires a PhD + Development of PAPP-A Inhibitors + Medicinal and Synthetic Organic Chemist + Be able to prepare grant applications focused on validating PAPP-A + Must be an experienced researcher, with at least 5 years + Have hands-on experience with leadership and supervision **Modes of Work** Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
