Responsibilities
The research program of Dr. Janice Krieger at the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC) in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary research team focused on cancer communication research.
The successful candidate will contribute to an NIH-funded project through a range of activities, including data collection and management, data analysis, and leading or co-authoring scholarly manuscripts. Areas of focus may include health communication, mobile health interventions, clinical trial recruitment, and quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis. Candidates should demonstrate experience working in interdisciplinary teams, clinical trial recruitment and familiarity with health research methodologies.
This fellowship offers specialized training in translational health communication within the context of cancer population sciences. Additional training opportunities may include:
• Community outreach and engagement
• Recruitment and dissemination science
• Reducing cancer disparities
• E-health technologies (e.g., patient portals, virtual humans)
• Grant writing and publication
• Use of unique and innovative data sources
This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
