**Responsibilities**
The Padmanabhan Laboratory at the Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Research Fellow to join our multidisciplinary research team focused on innovative investigations in hematology, immune-mediated disorders, and diagnostic/therapeutic discovery.
**About the Lab:**
Our group integrates clinical insight with cutting-edge research to understand the mechanisms of immune-mediated platelet and coagulation disorders and to translate discoveries into meaningful clinical advances. Our team has contributed to the identification and characterization of novel disease entities in the field (e.g. MGTS), and are keenly involved in diagnostic and therapeutic translation of discoveries. The body of work has been published in leading high-impact journals (e.g., New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, Lancet Hematology), and Dr. Padmanabhan’s mentees have gone on to be recipients of highly competitive NIH grants.
**We are seeking a candidate who embodies:**

+ Background in immunology, hematology, biochemistry, vascular biology, or related areas (preferred)
**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Design and conduct experiments in translational and mechanistic studies
+ Analyze, interpret, and present data to the research team and collaborators
+ Contribute to manuscript writing, grant applications, and scientific communications
+ Mentor graduate students and technologists when appropriate
+ Engage in a collaborative research environment within Mayo Clinic’s world-class facilities

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
**Qualifications**
+ Ph.D, M.D./Ph.D, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field
+ Track record of rigorous scientific research
+ Strong interest in translational/clinically relevant science
