**Minimum Educational qualification:** BSc, MSc or PhD in engineering, technology, sciences or in a related scientific field
**Minimum Relevant work experience:** Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Research & Development, Idea to Launch, Project Management, Product development or similar field, ideally in the Nutrition category.

Nestlé Research and Development Center, Ivory Coast is currently looking for a **Research & Development** **Specialist** to manage the development, innovation and renovation of products/processes/systems from inception through all gates of development.
+ Build his/her expertise and apply his/her knowledge in the field to provide relevant scientific/technical guidance in response to business and consumer needs (NHW, 40/60+).
+ Manage, support and execute projects aiming at launching innovative and competitive All family Cereal products, in response to business & consumer needs while protecting knowledge & intellectual property
+ Through all stages of development, ensure respect of approved project brief, internal processes, agreed timelines with sponsors and manage resource
+ Apply structured problem-solving approach and use relevant procedures as well as appropriate tools and equipment
+ Ensure that the requirements in safety, quality & regulatory are met, from prototyping to commercial launch
+ Evaluate the risks involved in manufacturing the product and actions to mitigate those risks
+ Document, report and present project results in written and oral form to the project team and/or to management
+ Facilitate and coach within the project team and enhance the interaction and collaboration between the various specialists, across R&D Units, B-Nutrition
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**INNOVATION / RENOVATION PIPELINE:**
+ Contribute and propose new ideas/activities/methods to NPTC/NRC, SBUs and Operations.
+ Build and document knowledge and share about the latest methods, trends and developments in relevant field of activity.
+ Integrate basic knowledge (or knowledge from other fields) in the interpretation of the results.
**PROJECT MANAGEMENT:**
- Propose, plan and deliver technical and scientific support in projects for NPTC/NRC and/or Markets.
- Manage knowledge building and business-related project activities with initiative.
- Present results/methods in written and oral form to interested parties or visitors.
- Manage projects according to briefs from the markets and start process in Idea to Launch.
- Ensure all stage gates are closed timely within project costs and perform risk assessment analysis and early equipment warning.
- Explore patentable technologies and processes.
**TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE:**
- Provide accurate and on-time support to operation with effective (quality, cost and on-time) and sustainable solutions.
- Give operational support to customers, assistance in industrialization start-ups, follow-up product launches, including technical and product improvements.
- Ensure zero waste and vertical start-up.
**PEOPLE AND KNOW-HOW:**
- Broad understanding of Scientific, Technology, Quality and Safety and Environment knowledge.
- Develop related tools and competencies in the domain of activity.
- Actively participate in expert network to promote cross-fertilization between different sites (Research & Development, Org. Units).
- Implement NHW and CSV strategies in practice. Begin guiding younger project team members.
- Mentor Associate Specialist.
**WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL?**
+ BSc, MSc or PhD in engineering, technology, sciences or Minimum Masters Degree in a related scientific field
+ Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Research & Development, Idea to Launch, Project Management, Product development or similar field.
+ Exposure in different parts of the organization (assignments in different Centers or in Operations).
+ Technical function in a factory to drive and support experimental/trial-based product & process development and industrialization
+ Solid cereals and grains ingredients, nutrition, sensory attributes and technologies knowledge a plus.
+ Demonstrated courage and ability to lead and drive initiatives and solve problems.
+ Proven communication skills. Presents confidently and convincingly.
+ Excellent proficiency level of English, French is a plus and any other language is an asset.
