Job Summary:\rA biostatistician is critical to WellStar Health System's (WHS) world-class excellence journey in research. This position will support GME Residents, Nursing Fellows, and other designated stakeholders across WHS in the following capacity: the development and review of protocols, grant applications and other collaborations by providing statistical expertise in: Study Design (sample size and power computation, statistical analysis planning, randomization and expertise on adaptive trial design); Study Conduct (randomization, questionnaire design, variable definition, database structure, interim analysis, resolution of statistical questions as they arise during ongoing studies, and data safety monitoring including participation in data monitoring committee); and Data Analysis and Results Reporting (survival analysis, generalized linear models, correlated and longitudinal data analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, forecasting and comparative effectiveness research).\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\rStudy Design and Conduct\r* Sample size and power computation\r* Statistical analysis planning\r* Randomization\r* Adaptive trial design\r* Questionnaire design\r* Variable definition\r* Database structure\r* Interim analysis\r* Resolution of statistical question as they arise during ongoing studies.\r* Data safety monitoring including participation in DSMC.\rData Analytics and Results Reporting\r* Uses statistical tools/programs provided by Wellstar Health System\r* Survival Analysis\r* Generalized linear model\r* Analyzes multi-source data trends using a variety of statistical approaches\r* Correlated and longitudinal data analysis\r* Performs analyses of small and large data sets\r* Data mining\r* Predictive Modeling\r* Performs other statistical analyses as needed\r* Forecasting and comparative effectiveness research\rResearch & Collaboration\r1. Consults on protocol design and development.\r2. Collaborates with researchers in development of scholarly articles\r3. Provides research mentoring for Medical Residents and Nursing Research Fellowship\rInterpretation & Reporting\r* Interprets statistical findings related to projects\r* Provides a consistent cadence of reporting to leadership of WRI, GME, and Nursing.\r* Provides on-time summaries of analyses to team members\r* Allocates time to the review and discussion of data analyses with team members to ensure understanding and appropriate next steps\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:Masters Public Health or Masters Biostatistics-Preferred or Doctorate Biostatistics-Preferred\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rMinimum 3 years years post-Masters degree in applied biostatistics Required or\rMinimum 1 year post- Doctorate Required\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rStrong data and analytical abilities;\raction-oriented;\rknowledge of research methodology;\rknowledge and application of advanced statistical methods (e.g., statistical regression);\rattention to detail;\rclear and effective communication (both verbal and written);\rability to plan and align;\rability to collaborate across groups while also driving results;\radept at Lean processes that reduce waste;\rtechnology savvy; and presentation abilities.\rFurther, the Biostatistician is able to discern when efficient and high-level analyses are required vs. situations that call for more detailed and methodical approaches.
