Corteva Agriscience is looking for a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join the Trait Discovery Mass Spectrometry Team! This team located in the Protein and Analytical Technologies department is focused on utilizing mass spectrometry for plant protein identification, quantification, and characterization. This person will: perform sample extractions, total protein assay, sample preparations, load and run samples on mass spectrometry equipment, data analysis, and result reporting. In addition, using automated equipment operation and maintenance; and lab reagent preparation and inventory with a focus on providing cost effective, timely, quality results to our clients.  

What You’ll Do:

Perform routine lab support tasks including the following:General lab maintenanceLab supply inventorySolution preparationOperate and maintain equipment and assaysUse and maintain robotic equipmentPerform sample processing according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)Troubleshoot processes as neededPromote a safe working environment.

What Skills You Need:

Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience.Ability to work independently and as a team memberAttention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasksSelf-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to personal/technical growthMust have excellent written, oral, and organizational skills

What Makes You Stand Out:

Protein analysis experienceExperience with liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, high throughput analysis, computer programing, and/or laboratory automationExperience with problem identification, problem solving and process improvement
