Research Assistant -Study Technician Post Life

Labcorp is seeking a Research Assistant to join our Pathology team in Greenfield, IN!

Job Responsibilities:

Perform basic necropsy or histology tasks on a variety of laboratory animals in compliance with the appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelinesMonitor animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Health and Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for AAALAC compliancePerforming multiple tissue freezing techniques and measuring of tissuesPerforming histological trimming, bagging of tissues, and embeddingLearns to perform various methods of euthanasia on multiple species according to USDA regulations (if applicable)Participates in quality controls and assures correction of errors (incl. documentation)Participates in monitoring and tracking resources (e.g., equipment, rooms, study supplies)Adapts techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directedLearns how to interpret a study protocolReports all animal care concerns and becomes involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessaryMaintains a safe and clean work environmentMaintains client confidentiality at all timesPerforms other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry OR Associates Degree in Veterinary Technician

Preferred Qualifications

6 months or more of experience with small and large animal dissections6 months or more of experience in animal handling

Additional Job Standards

Comfortable working in Animal Research FacilityComfortable with performing small and large animal necropsy -training provided

Pay Rate: $22 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
