Research Assistant - #Staff
The Department of Neurology is seeking a **_Research Assistant_** for an NIH-sponsored project on the effects of tDCS in primary progressive aphasia (PPA) for the Laboratory of Neuromodulation of Language. The project is devoted to the study of language intervention and neuroplasticity in neurodegenerative diseases and, in particular, in primary progressive aphasia. We use behavioral and neuromodulation intervention methods (e.g., tDCS) and we aim to understand their effectiveness and the brain mechanisms they involve using neuroimaging (structural MRI, DTI, fMRI, resting-state fMRI, MR spectroscopy). **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** + Participate in evaluating participants in a range of standardized language and cognitive tasks. + Deliver a pre-determined speech and language training session. + Archive language, cognitive and therapy results. + Maintain patients’ files and analyze oral and written therapy data. + Participate in training to administer testing protocols at follow-up intervals. + Assist in manuscript preparation, including writing own abstracts and presenting at scientific meetings. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. **Preferred Qualifications** + Prior experience with people with aphasia and MRI research. + Interest in working with patients with neurodegenerative syndromes.
